Privacy policy
Wikimedia Hungary (the Chapter) maintains the highest level of respect for the privacy of your personal data. We have developed this Donor Privacy Policy to guide our volunteers and staff on how they may and may not use your personal information. This policy may be updated from time to time; if we have your email address, you will be notified before such changes. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
Readers
IP addresses of readers of this website and other online services of the Chapter will be logged in the web servers. Such logs will only be used for statistical purposes, technical troubleshooting and averting break-in attempts; we only release such data when required by law or when it is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of the Chapter or its users, or to ensure normal operation of the website.
Members
Names and email addresses of chapter members are only available to other members, unless they explicitly allow making them public. All other personal data of members is only available to the Board and the Supervisory Board, and to members appointed by them who need the data to perform their tasks.
Donors
Personal data
The Chapter holds the following personal information of its donors: name, address, phone number, email address. The Chapter will never publish, sell, trade or share these data without explicit permission from the donor. The Chapter will use these data for these purposes only:
- to send receipts for donations;
- to thank donors for their donations;
- to inform donors about upcoming fundraisers and other activities of the Chapter;
- for internal analysis and record keeping;
- to notify donors about changes to this policy.
Properly anonymized donor information is used for promotional and fundraising activities. Donors have the option to publicly associate their names with their donations; if they do not indicate they want that, their donations will be handled confidentially.
Financial information
Access to financial information such as the bank account number of the donor are strictly limited to functionaries of the Chapter who need to process those data. No such data are given to any person, organization or group who does not need to access those data.
The Chapter only uses online payment processing services with world class security and strong reputations. The Chapter does not have access to information provided to such services such as credit card numbers.
